To do the mermaid effect you need a specific dust for nails which is for this purpose! I used one from "Christian Artesio" but you can find it at stores for nails. This style is only for Shellac or Gel. 

I used the base coat, "Nude Knickers" for the color and the top coat by CND Shellac. I placed some "swarovski" crystals on top in a pyramid shape.

♥TUTORIAL♥

~First, you paint your nails, after the preparation (filing, buffering, cuticles), with a gel or shellac base coat. 

(Cure in a UV[2 min] or LED[60 sec] lamp)

~Then, you paint your nails 2 coats with the color gel or shellac.

(Cure in a UV[2 min] or LED[60 sec] lamp)

~Now, with your finger put some dust of the product on all of the surface of your nail and carefully press it down with circular moves. Continue this process to all of your nails. Remove any excess dust from your nails. 

~Lastly, seal your manicure with a gel or shellac top coat.

(Cure in a UV[2 min] or LED[60 sec] lamp)

*If you feel that the surface is like sand, buff it a little bit and then put another coat of top coat.

*You can put some nail studs or crystals on top just to be more cute!

BE CAREFUL: You must paint your nails with thin coats otherwise the gel polish will "run" in your cuticle area.
