9 Ways to Create a French Manicure
22.5.16
Throwback in 1975
In 1975, Jeff Pink, Orly's creator, noticed that every time an actress changed her outfit for the next scene, she had to change the color of her nails to match the clothes too. So, he came up with a solution: the well known french manicure. It was quickly spread through the fashion world!
So here I am today, to show you 9 different ways to create this look!
For this french manicure
I used as a base pink soft pink nail polish of the set "Soft Sensuality" by Make Up Selective.
I used for the french tip a regular white nail polish "501" by Christian Artesio.
There are two common types of the french manicure! The one is with a straight line (5 ways) and the other with a smile line (4 ways). Let's begin!
Straight line
First way...
Rubber band
It is a simple method and I think the majority of people have one! It doesn't have to be a thick rubber band as in the image, you can also use a thin one!
Second way...
Tape
This is one of the most popular ways to create a french manicure easily at home! Which brings us to the next method...
Third way...
Band aid
Don't you have a tape nearby? You can use a band aid instead.
Tip: Stick it to your hand for a couple of times before placing it on your nail to remove some of the stickiness, so the nail polish won't be ruined underneath the band aid.
Fourth way...
Nail tape
If you spend a lot of time with nail art designs, you may have a nail tape. It is really cheap and it does work really good! It can be a life saver for those who have curved nails. You can find it in stores with nail art supplies.
Fifth way...
French Guide Stickers
We can't forget these stickers! These are made for this reason! They usually come in a kit with nail polish for a french manicure.
Smile line
First way...
Ring Label Stickers
These stickers can be used as a guide for a curved line for a french manicure and I always use this method for me!
Tip: Cut them in half so they can stick better on your nails and you can use one for two fingers!
Second way...
Band aid
Who said that we can't use the end of a band aid for the same purpose? It may be a little hard to place it on your nails, but has a really nice smile line!
Tip: Stick it to your hand for a couple of times before placing it on your nail to remove some of the stickiness, so the nail polish won't be ruined underneath the band aid.
Third way...
French Guide Stickers
(This isn't a photo I took)
You can use them like the straight ones I mentioned above!
Fourth way...
Free Hand
(This isn't a photo I took)
You can always use a nail art brush to create this manicure! There is a variety of brushes and several prices and the nail art brush in the photo above is for a french manicure because it is designed for this purpose!
